Oldie but a Goodie

"It is not in the the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves" -William Shakespeare

I like this quote because it inspires everyone to pursue their dreams. Although wishing on stars are fun at the end of the day it is not going to help you accomplish what you really want in life. The only way you can get what you want is to remain dedicated and work at your fullest potential.
William Shakespeare was not immediately accepted as a great playwright, he had to work extremey hard and even when others criticized his work he had to remain persistent. Therefore, he wrote this quote because he understood first hand how much effort one must put in to reach success.
Most people are optimistic and believe they have a specific destiny in life which can be achieved through an act of fate. Although I do believe in fate I also know that the only way to be certain to reach one's detsiny is to go after it. One can not just sit back and enjoy the ride. People have to be fighters and realize they are the only ones controlling their destiny. It is up to them to make those wishes and dreams come true.
It is fun to dream and wish on magical stars but at the end of the day the only person that makes that dream a reality is you. So dream big and make it happen!

Motivational Speaker

"Children see, children do!" Joe Ehrmann

(This is a commerical that Joe Erhrmann showed us to make a point of this quote!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJF50kwwRJE

Tonight a motivational speaker named Joe Ehrmann gave a presentation on our campus. He was a former professional football player and has a degree in theology. Joe was a coach for many years and realized the impact of sports in American society. As a coach he wanted to instill certain values in his players and make them realize the positive impact they can have on others claiming that their job does not only take place on the field. One of his points was about children and how we must be positive role models all the time because you never know when a child is watching you. Plus, even when you think they are not they probably are because children have a natural curiosity and want to discover new things. That is why it is extremely important for parents, teachers, caregivers, babysitters, brothers, sisters, aunts, and uncles etc. (anyone that is around children) to show respect and have good values. We want future generations to grow up with morals and willingness to respect all human life!
